Guru Repository

Since openSUSE 10.3, the Guru repository has merged with Packman, so you need it only if you use openSUSE 10.2 or older.

The Guru repository is the second-most popular 3rd-party package repository (after Packman) managed by Pascal Bleser (yaloki), and contains a plethora of RPMs that aren't available in the normal openSUSE/SUSE distribution, or which might have an older version. This tends to include the latest version of KPlayer, Amarok, Apollon, gajim, xchat, and much more.

Adding the Guru repository

For adding the Guru repository, see Repositories.

Mirrors

Note that you must add the distribution version (e.g. /10.2) to those URLs to add them as installation sources using the YaST2 repository format
Example: http://ftp.skynet.be/pub/suser-guru/10.2/
If you prefer to use the RPM-MD repository format (also known as "YUM" or "repomd" format), also add /RPMS after the version
Example: http://ftp.skynet.be/pub/suser-guru/rpm/10.2/RPMS/

GPG Key

To import the Guru GPG key, enter the following command:

su -c <nowiki>"rpm --import http://linux01.gwdg.de/~pbleser/guru-rpm.asc"</nowiki>
